Macbeth and Measure for Measure classes had a super afternoon on Tuesday with their first scooter lessons. In between the hail storms and thunder, we gathered on the big playground and learnt how to adjust our scooters and helmets, practised an emergency stop and took part in a challenging game of 'follow my leader.' We are hoping Nicky will come back to give the children, and Miss Wren and Miss Hopkinson, another lesson this half term and we will be planning some scooter lessons as part of our p.e. too!
Macbeth class had a special treat on Friday afternoon when we were invited by Hamlet, our buddy class, to help them test out our brand new school micro-scooters. Hamlet class very kindly acted as the mechanics and fitted helmets and adjusted the scooters to the correct height for their buddies. The children in Macbeth then had a chance to try out the scooters, navigating through cones and practising stopping. We all really enjoyed it and would like to say a big thank you to Miss Westbrook and Hamlet class for organising it for us.
With the arrival of some much needed the sunshine, the children have been spending more time accessing outdoor learning opportunities. We have a brand new den and have spring cleaned the whole outdoor area, leading to lots of learning through play. From planting vegetable seeds, to balancing challenges and lots of outdoor writing, it has been non-stop. We are also taking part in Empty Classroom Day on the 17th June with a whole day focussed on outdoor learning, so look out for updates nearer the time.
