A wet and windy day with a hail storm thrown in didn't stop a fabulous trip to Cowes Lifeboat Station on Wednesday for Macbeth and Measure for Measure classes! We walked from school down to the Lifeboat Station in two groups and when we arrived, we were treated to a range of activities. There was a talk on their lifeboat, 'Sheena Louise', with the opportunity for children to ask questions about what each part is used for, from the anchor to the foot stirrups! The children were also shown the equipment the Lifeboat crew have to wear and allowed to try on life jackets and helmets. Finally, there was a fantastic talk about tides, linking to our current topic 'A Leap in Time'. The children learnt the meaning of ebbing and flowing, as well as high and low tides and a fabulous new song to tie it all together. We would like to say a big thank you to the Lifeboat volunteers for giving up their time for our trip, as well as all the Mummy's, Daddy's and Nanny's who came with us.
